Ronald Stroup, Aviation Systems Engineering Expert | Connecting the Dots of the National Airspace System.

Ron Stroup is a systems engineer responsible for overall systems integration and performance leading to Future National Airspace Systems (NAS) resiliency. He served as an Aviation Safety Engineer in the Chicago Aircraft Certification Office from 1989 to 1997 and as the Software Technology Specialist in the Special Certification Office in Fort Worth, Texas from 1997 to 2000. From 2000 to 2003 worked for the Chief Scientist for Air Traffic on Safety and Security of NAS software. Since becoming the Chief Systems Engineer in 2003, he is responsible for providing NAS vision and facilitating collaborative partnerships to support overall system-of-systems integration, system performance, and leads system engineering efforts. He performs trade studies and defines technology vector(s); resolve cross-cutting implementation and transition issues; performs horizon scanning to identify strategies to evolve legacy and new systems to support the future architecture. Ron holds a B.S. (Avionics Engineering) from Parks College of Saint Louis University and an M.S. (Information Management) from Syracuse University.
